promoting equality and diversity
Always fill boxes, don’t just tick them!
Giving a strong message about promoting equality and diversity makes good business sense. If staff feel safe to be themselves they contribute more, if customers witness good practice they are more likely to bring repeat business. Promoting equality and diversity cannot start at the bottom and work its way up, it has to start at the top and work its way throughout the organisation. Promoting equality and diversity is about the top managers having a commitment to all staff, and communicating this and making a culture of anti-discriminatory practice.
360 diversity is an effective tool for communicating your diversity agenda to all staff. It enables staff to share their fears and concerns, whilst also being able to offer direct feedback through the forums. 360 diversity is also a way to celebrate your staff’s diversity, and the events calendar can be used to notify staff of the next local Gay Pride, or when Eid will be this year.
